What is the WCI Charitable Trust?

The Worshipful Company of Insurers Charitable Trust was launched in 2018 following the reorganisation of two earlier funds established when the WCI was founded in 1979. It is a registered charity (Registered Charity Number: 1175425).

Members of the Company commit to an annual contribution to support the work of the Trust.

The financial contributions and volunteer time given by our members enable the Insurers’ Livery Company to support charities based in the City and surrounding regions – charities helping vulnerable young people without family support who are seeking education, training and employment, the homeless, those reaching the end of their earthly lives in hospices, newly released prisoners and our injured servicemen.

It is our policy to support carefully chosen educational and social welfare charities based in and around the City. The wide range of charities supported recently with grants made by our Trust will be found under Charity Partners.

The Charitable Trust has given over £1.2m and WCI members have contributed many thousands of volunteer hours to over 180 charities, schools and others in the past decade.

The Trust welcomes applications for funding from registered charities working in and around the City of London.

For details of how to apply for a grant please go to We Give, where an application form can be downloaded.
